What we collect
Your email address (so that the researcher can link your Round 1 and Round 2 responses and send you anonymised group feedback), your consent choices, your ratings of each quality indicator and any optional comments you provide. We do not collect demographic details, ID numbers, health information about you, or location data, and this website uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we collect it (purpose)
Solely to conduct the modified e-Delphi study described on this website, including analysing responses, sharing anonymised aggregate feedback between rounds, and reporting findings in a Master of Pharmacy Practice dissertation, at conferences and in scientific journals.
Lawful basis
Your voluntary, specific and informed consent (POPIA section 11(1)(a)), and processing for research purposes with appropriate safeguards (POPIA section 15 and section 27(1)(d) as applicable).
Voluntary participation
Providing information is voluntary. If you choose not to provide it you simply will not take part; there is no penalty. You may withdraw at any time by contacting the researcher.
Who can see your information
Only the researcher and the two research supervisors can access identifiable responses, through a password-protected researcher area. Other panel members never see your identity or individual answers. Findings are presented in aggregate form only.
Storage and security
Responses are stored in an encrypted, access-controlled database. Access is restricted by login to the named research team. Data may be processed on servers outside South Africa by our hosting provider, which is bound to protect it to a standard comparable to POPIA (section 72).
Retention
In line with University policy, data are retained for at least five years after publication of the findings or completion of the study, after which they may be securely destroyed.
Future use
With your separate, optional permission, anonymised (de-identified) data may be used by other researchers for future research. You can decline this and still participate.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to be told what information we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email the researcher to exercise these rights.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, contact the researcher or HSSREC (hssrec@ukzn.ac.za, 031 260 4557). You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa: inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.
